Last Thursday, the Latvian parliament has voted to withdraw from the Istanbul convention, which purpose is to combat domestic violence and violence against women – the first EU country to do so.
The justification for leaving this convention is based mostly in anti-trans ideology.
In addition, recent bills that target gender affirming care and the LGBT community at large, particularily so minors, spearhead the attack on human rights in Latvia.
Join us on Thursday, the 6th of November, at 6pm in front of the Latvian embassy to protest for human rights, show solidarity and demand the parliament to stop these bills. We must not look away as human rights are being eroded all around us.
We must not remain silent.
